Why divide, not subtract?
Your monthly budget already includes GST — it's the total, not the base. Dividing by
(1 + GST%) backs out the base amount correctly. Simply subtracting the GST% from the
total (e.g. budget × 0.82 for 18% GST) undershoots the real ad spend, because 18% of
the total is more rupees than 18% of the base. Always divide.
Correct: Actual spend = Budget ÷ 1.18
Wrong: Actual spend = Budget − (Budget × 18%)
About the 75% daily overspend
Meta may spend up to 75% more than your daily average budget on a single high-opportunity
day, but it automatically balances delivery across the week so your total weekly spend
never exceeds daily average budget × 7. Occasional high-spend days are offset by
lower-spend days elsewhere in the same week.
